The Ministry of Defence
Production, also known as MoDP, is an executive department of the Pakistani
federal government with the responsibility for developing and producing weapons
and equipment for the Pakistani armed forces. In 2004, the MoDP was established
as a separate ministry from its parent organization, the Ministry of Defence.
Through its independently funded institutions, the MoDP is in charge of the
development of conventional military weapons systems. An elected member of
parliament, the Minister of Defense Production is in charge of the ministry.
