About the National University of Pakistan (NUP)
The National University of Pakistan (NUP) is being built in
Islamabad, Pakistan. The passage of the National University of Pakistan Bill in
2023 enabled the establishment of this university. Murtaza Javed Abbasi,
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, submitted the bill before the National
Assembly on behalf of Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Defence. President
Dr. Arif Alvi signed the measure on April 20, 2023. The university strives for
excellence in the advancement and distribution of knowledge in natural and
applied science, engineering and new technologies, management science,
computing, social science, humanities and arts, and other knowledge fields.
